Sometimes the best products for skin care are the ones that you make at home. In this post, we are going to make an extremely simple and inexpensive face wash for oily skin using items that you may already have laying around your house. Keep in mind that this is a face wash that is not suited for skin that is dry. If your face is naturally oily or is prone to breakouts, this is a face wash for you. Dry skin is recognizable by its flakiness and complete lack of breakouts. So if you are ready to get started on this seriously easy tutorial, let’s go!
Things You’ll Need:
1. Raw Organic Honey
2. Lemon Juice or Essential Oil
3. Cinnamon – less than 1/2 teaspoon
4. Lavender – 2 drops (Optional)
5. Clean Jar or Container
Instructions: Okay, so why raw honey? Well, raw honey has the natural antibacterial properties and enzymes/probiotics that are great for oily skin. The lemon that is added to the honey is also antibacterial in nature, and this is essential for helping acne-prone skin clear up and look amazing. It can also help to heal damage and dark spots.
So now that we know how this face wash for oily skin can deeply benefit those who have naturally oily skin, what is the first step in making it? You want to start with a clean jar or container that you will be able to store your face wash when you are ready to use it on a regular basis. Make sure that it will make your face wash easily accessible in the jar that you choose and plan on having something close by that can be used to scoop the product out without chance of contamination.
Mix your ingredients together in a mixing bowl that is large enough to handle the ingredients. Make sure to add less than 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon if you so choose, but be sure to not overdo it. It can accidentally cause the skin to dry out. As an optional choice, you can add a few drops of lavender essential oil as a bonus to your face wash for oily skin. This will help to balance your skin and help it to achieve maximum glow and health.
In order to use this cleanser in such a way that it benefits you the most, you want to use it morning and night each day. Simply wet your face with some warm water and then apply your cleanser using your clean spoon to your face and let it sit. Massage it gently into the skin and then allow it to sink into the pores for 10 to 15 minutes.
After this amount of time has passed, wash the homemade face product off of your skin using warm water and then pat dry. That is all there is to it!
