There are two facts about me that come out in this project: One, I am on a never-ending quest to organize my house. Two, I love tea! It struck me recently that my counter space was getting a bit cluttered by the tea boxes on them, and they didn’t look pretty. So I decided to decorate some mason jars and turn them into cute little DIY tea jars that wouldn’t look out of place on a kitchen counter. Take a look!
I started off with four 1 pint mason jars and some cream-colored ribbon that I picked up from Michaels this month.
The ribbon was the perfect size to wrap around the top of my jars and secure into a bow. I did this for all four jars.
I found some stickers from a scrapbook kit I purchased a few months back and thought it would be fun to play around with them. However, the style of the stickers and the black and white coloring didn’t really go with the cream ribbon, so in an effort to keep the jars looking simple and pretty, I only used the lettering.
Then it was time to label the jars, and fill each one with tea!
I didn’t have enough tea for another jar, so I decided to use the last one as a candy jar, and I filled it with peppermints.
And that’s it! Really simple, and now my tea can be on display without taking up too much counter space, and without looking like it doesn’t belong. I definitely recommend this project for anyone who would like to add some creativity and organization to a space in their home. If you decide to whip up some tea jars of your own, another plus is once you’re done with your tea and ready to re-purpose the jars, they each smell really nice on the inside! Enjoy your DIY tea jars, and even whip some up as gifts.
