Hello everyone! For this jewelry project, I decided to think outside the box a little bit and dabble in re-purposing. You never know when something will come in handy, even something most people are accustomed to throwing away. I’ve been saving my can tabs rather than getting rid of them, and this week I whipped up some can tab earrings. Take a look!
These can tabs came in this pretty pink color, but you could absolutely make these or a similar pair in another color or the usual silver. I used some connectors to have two tabs on top of each other per pair and added some little gems to give the earrings some flair. And here’s what they look like on:
These were fun to make, and quite easy and quick! And since you’re re-purposing these tabs, the cost is super low. I definitely recommend looking at some of the things you have laying around the home, and use some creativity! Save your bottles, save your can tabs, save your newspapers and cereal boxes even. I’ve seen notebooks made out of cereal boxes, dresses made from tape and newspaper, can tab purses, even can tab clothing! You’ll exercise your creative muscles, and help the environment.
I have plenty of can tabs saved away for more jewelry and accessories, so stay tuned!
