I’m always trying to find my identity through the clothing I wear and the jewelry I put on along with it. Some days I feel like tapping in to my bohemian side, and so for this week’s jewelry adventures I decided to go that route.
If you read my monthly supply shopping trip article (here), you might recognize these charms. I purchased them at Michaels during a 4 for 10 sale, and so I picked up 4 charms and 4 bracelet chains. At first I had wanted to use the tree charm bracelet form, but I quickly realized that the bracelets weren’t long enough for my wrist, even with the charm attached to give it some extra length. The bracelet chains I bought came with several little chains attached in one, so I deconstructed a bracelet and instead connected the silver chains to make a necklace.
Here is what the bracelet looked like before I deconstructed it. It’s made up of silver pieces and brass pieces, and I simply set the brass chains aside for a different project.
With the elephant charm, things went more my way, because the chain I used, combined with the charm, closed around my wrist no problem.
Have I ever said how much of a sucker for elephants I am? I’m totally a sucker for elephants! I really love how this bracelet turned out.
So that’s what I came up with this week! I had gotten a little carried away with my sewing projects that I had pushed the jewelry to the side, but I definitely wanted to do something with what I had purchased. I would have made a little more than this, but I realized I ran out of rings and hooks that I needed to complete some of my other projects. But I’ll definitely have more jewelry done soon!
