Jewelry Of The Week – Pendant Focal Points

Hello! You may have noticed that it’s been some time since I posted a jewelry of the week article. I didn’t have the time or money to go and buy more supplies, so I wasn’t able to make anything new for a while. I apologize for that, and there will be more jewelry in the future!

These are the necklaces I cooked up this week:

Elephant Necklace

Cameo

To make the first necklace, I snipped an 18 inch bit of chain from a long chain I had purchased at Michaels. I added the clasps to each end of the chain, and then focused on the pendant.

The elephant pendant that I bought also came with an owl that I haven’t used yet. I took a lovely coral rose charm from a package of flower charms I purchased a few months ago and glued it onto the pendant. As a side note, on the Facebook page, I posted a picture of the owl next to some roses I was considering gluing onto it, and asked your opinion on which color I should use.

Elephant and Owl Pendant

It was a close one between the green and white rose, and the white rose won! So I’ll be using this pendant and rose in another project very soon.

Once I added the rose to the elephant pendant, I attached it to the chain. But I felt that it still needed a little something extra. So I clipped off two small pieces of chain and attached them from either side of the pendant to the chain to create a loop on each side. And here’s what the necklace looks like on:

For the second necklace, I used a chain that I had stored for a few months. It already came at a set length, so I didn’t need to do anything to it. One of the little gems had fallen out, so before I could use it I had to glue that back in, but once that was fixed, it was ready. I took a cameo pendant that I had purchased around the same time as the chain and placed it in the middle between two of the gems.

And that’s it! It was easy, and fast, and a nice piece of jewelry that I look forward to wearing. Here is what it looks like on:

I really hope you like these two necklaces! Please let me know in the comments which is your favorite.
